Applying

Winsor welcomes applications for grades 5 through 7 in our Lower School as well as for grades 9 through 11 in our Upper School.

The Admission team looks diligently at every girl who applies, seeking students with demonstrated intellectual curiosity, academic ability, motivation, and spirit. The School is committed to cultural, racial, and economic diversity among its students and seeks young women who have a generous spirit and a respect for difference.

To start the application process, you must complete a preliminary application, located in the course catalog. As soon as we receive your preliminary application, a full application packet will be mailed to you.

Interviews and Tours

You are welcome to come for an interview either before or after you apply.

While here for an interview, we also encourage you to take a tour of the School with a student guide. Seeing Winsor students and faculty in action will help you to imagine what it would be like to be a student here.

Admission decisions

Admission decisions are made on the basis of a candidate's individual strengths and talents, on her potential to be successful and happy at Winsor, and on her ability to contribute positively to the School community. The Admission Committee carefully considers a student's application, her school record and recommendations, and her testing performance.

Testing

For students applying to Classes I-III (Grades 5-7) at Winsor, the ISEE is required. For those applying to Classes V-VII (Grades 9-11), the ISEE or the SSAT are required. Test results are due by January 31, 2007.
