On April 27, 2012, Winsor students, families and teachers received their "passports" to travel around the world and enjoy the cuisine, music and dance of many different cultures -- all within the Winsor dining room! The evening, called Girls Go Global, gave everyone in attendance an opportunity to celebrate the many cultures of the Winsor community. A Boston-based all-female band Zili Misik performed world music, and added to the spirit and energy. Parent volunteers and Winsor staff put a lot of time and thought into organizing this special event -- from planning food, decorations and a fun photo booth to coordinating a raffle and creating a large posterboard map with pinpoints showing students' ancestral roots around the world. The lucky raffle prize winners will have parent volunteers come to their home to cook an authentic meal from a particular culture. Student, parent and faculty volunteers were also stationed throughout the room at informational table displays to talk to "travelers" about their country of origin. Professional photographer Josh Touster captured the joy of the evening in these images below.
