Lower School Descants and the Upper School's Senior Small, Small Chorus and Chorale treated classmates and teachers to an uplifting concert assembly on April 26, 2012. Descants, directed by Valerie Becker, opened the morning performance with three pieces that showcased their range, "May It Be," "One Small Voice" and "Ritmo." Senior Small gave their final performance on the Winsor stage, beautifully singing the Beatles' "Here Comes the Sun." The spring's Chorale members joined Small Chorus for a gorgeous "La Nuit" featuring senior soloist Bailey Scott and directed once again by Lisa Taillacq, the Eleanor Thomas Nelson '49 Chair in Fine Arts. After a rousing "Niska Banja" and the classic "Stand By Me," Small Chorus members spread throughout the hall to sing "Can You Hear," with solos by seniors Annie Batten, Jen Holthouse and Hadley Williams and junior Lena Afeyan. In a preview of coming attractions on the arts calendar, the Winsor cast members of "All Shook Up," this year's Winsor-Roxbury Latin spring musical, gave the audience a peek at the Elvis-inspired show.
