Capital and Endowment Giving
In 2003 Winsor completed a three-year comprehensive capital campaign, The Essential Winsor, which raised $32 million. The campaign’s major objectives were to increase the school’s endowment for faculty salaries and scholarship and to improve the facilities.
Although the campaign is over, Winsor continues to seek funds for capital and endowment purposes. A significant goal of the school continues to be the creation of endowed faculty chairs, given in honor of or in memory of beloved Winsor teachers or family members. To date there are six named endowed faculty chairs at Winsor:
- The Essential Winsor Science Chair
- The Elizabeth Partridge Heald ’57 and Kimberly Heald Krawshuk ’87 Chair in Mathematics
- The Alice C. Jenckes Chair in History
- The Eleanor Thomas Nelson ’49 Chair in Fine Arts
- The Carolyn McClintock Peter Chair in English
- The O’Donnell Family Chair
Donors are encouraged to establish additional chairs or to contribute to existing chair funds. Likewise, donors may establish a named scholarship fund, making a Winsor education possible for a deserving student and her family; or a named endowment fund to support a department, technology, athletics, the library, or faculty enrichment. A full list of named endowed funds appears in the Annual Report.
Winsor would be pleased to honor a donor, retired faculty, relative, classmate or friend by naming an endowment fund or a facility at the school. Several named gift opportunities are available.
