Acceptable Use Policy

  • Use of Computers and the Internet

The Winsor School provides students with access to the school network, the Internet, and other computer equipment and programs, for work related to the curriculum and for exploration connected with appropriate personal interest. Academic use of equipment and programs will take priority over non-academic activity. Academic use is defined as school-related research, word processing, and check Winsor e-mail or Intranet.

The school reserves the right to place restrictions on the use of its equipment and programs. Students are expected to respect all school rules of behavior when using the school's technology resources. No student shall intentionally abuse school equipment, including hardware and software. The school reserves the right to track network use and to look at data and e-mail communications created by students using the Winsor network or other technology at the school. Each student should observe rules for ensuring her personal safety.

If a student needs clarification regarding any on-line situation, she is responsible for consulting an appropriate teacher or advisor.

Because of the wide range of ages and developmental needs of our student body, Room 6 has been designated as a computer lab for academic use only to ensure that lower school students have a place to learn technology skills appropriate to their age and experience.
