Human Resources Staff Position

Under the general, technical, and administrative supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Human Resource Staff Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Benefits Administration

  • Successfully manage and coordinate benefit programs (Health, Dental, Section 125, 403(b) Retirement Plan, ADP, STD, LTD, Life/AD&D and COBRA) for employees, including all employee communication, problem solving and claims resolution.
  • Conducting wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
  • Manage compliance with fee reporting requirements in the schools 403(b) pension plan.
  • Orient new employees.
  • Assist in development of benefits insurance budget and negotiate contracts on an annual basis with Chief Financial Officer.
  • Prepare/edit Summary Plan Descriptions as needed for plan changes and legal compliance.
  • Administer Section 125 Plan, including monthly claims processing.
  • Manage annual open enrollment for Health, Dental and Section 125 Plans.
  • Preparing and communicating information to employees and former employees about benefit programs, procedures, changes and government-mandated disclosures.

Employee Relations

  • Maintain employee handbook for the School.
  • Assist/edit/update job descriptions for all employees.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state statutes/laws such as FMLA, ADA, Sexual Harassment, OSHA, Worker’s Compensation, Title VII, CORI. Finger printing and ERISA.
  • Counsel employees regarding disciplinary problems and provide mediation when necessary.
  • Ensure the integrity of recruitment, hiring and the new employee orientation process.
  • Determining online recruiting strategies for attracting candidates.
  • Manage Worker’s Compensation program (file claims, follow-up, etc.).
  • Consulting with management to prepare employment policies, procedures and practices.

Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • BS Degree in HR or related field
  • PHR Certificate.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Word
