Mission Statement of the Parent Network for Diversity
The Winsor School has long been recognized as a leader in educating young women. Through its administrative and teaching staff, Winsor strives to instill in each student the confidence, self-reliance and skills necessary to compete in an increasingly diverse and challenging world. Winsor remains committed to maximizing each girl’s academic, social, psychological and physical development.
The Winsor Network for Diversity is an association open to all parents of young women who either attend or are graduates of Winsor School. The Network exists to enhance the efforts of the Winsor Board, administration and teaching staff in better understanding and promoting the rich cultural, racial, ethnic and economic diversity of Winsor students.
We seek to promote communication and dialogue among staff, the students and ourselves in order to make a positive contribution to the education of all Winsor students.
The Network’s goals are:
1. To serve as a resource and support to Winsor parents, administrators, teachers, students and alumnae on issues which may evolve around students of color, concepts of diversity or minority recruitment.
2. To collaborate with the Winsor faculty and administration to ensure that the the school’s curriculum, activities and staff represent and are respectful of the racial, cultural and economic diversity of the Winsor community.
To work with the administration and staff in sponsoring or co-sponsoring experiences that sensitize, celebrate and promote the Winsor community’s appreciation of the concepts of diversity and inclusion.
