Volunteer Opportunities for Parents

The range and scope of volunteer opportunities at Winsor are enormous. All volunteer opportunities for parents are described in this section of the site. Click here to fill out the volunteer opportunity form.

Every parent is a member of the Winsor Parents’ Association and is a vital resource to the school. We welcome parental involvement in a variety of activities, and we want to encourage each parent to give as much time as he or she can offer. Volunteering in the school is a great way to meet other parents and to contribute to the school in a significant way.

Wide Range of Rewarding Opportunities

In the Index of all Volunteer Opportunities, we have assembled detailed information on opportunities through the Parents’ Association and the Winsor Annual Fund. The volunteer time required ranges from a two-year commitment involving ongoing coordination of an event or committee to a one-time commitment offering to help with a specific event or day. In the detailed description of each task we have tried to include estimates of the time required, and specific indications of when the event takes place. We hope this will make it easier to find opportunities that match your interests and the time you have available, while at the same time proving rewarding for you and the school.

Annual events at Winsor includes many traditional ones, and each year, some new ones. Not all events will occur each year. We have indicated events that have not been scheduled for next year. An updated list is always included in the summer mailing that goes out to all parents (and will also be posted online).

Welcoming All Offers of Help

The school and the Winsor Parents’ Association welcome all offers of help, and suggestions for new roles. Appointment of Liaisons, Committee Chair positions, and Class Reps (most are two-year assignments) takes place in the spring for the coming school year. Based on the responses to the sign-up form for the wide range of volunteer opportunities, included in Appendix B of the volunteer handbook, and distributed to parents in the spring of each year separately, Committee Chairs contact interested volunteers during the summer. We hope you will find one or more of these opportunities interesting and compatible with your schedule and time available. We look forward to seeing you!
