The Arts
The arts are woven into the fabric of the curriculum. To learn about Winsor’s courses in visual art, music, drama and dance, please visit the Fine Arts course page. Many co-curricular activities also encourage students to discover and develop their artistic abilities. See the Arts Calendar for a full schedule of performances and exhibits.
Visual Art
Walk through Winsor’s hallways, and the arts surround you. Displays of drawings, paintings, sculpture and photographs—including special exhibits in the school’s Abelow Gallery—showcase student work. See examples of student artwork in our Art Gallery.
Music
Girls perform in several musical groups, including the Lower School orchestra and choral groups for both Lower and Upper Schoolers. Their performance calendar includes seasonal concerts at Winsor and joint annual concerts with both Belmont Hill and Roxbury Latin. Winsor’s select Small Chorus has sung everywhere from Carnegie Hall to Fenway Park.
Drama
Students star on stage—and behind the scenes—in drama productions through classes and co-curricular activities. They also perform in plays and musicals coordinated by Belmont Hill and Roxbury Latin.
Dance
A new and growing program, dance engages students at all levels of ability. Upper School classes explore technique, artistic expression and elements of choreography. All Lower School girls enjoy dance as part of physical education.
