Greentown Yuhua School Exchange Program
As part of our ongoing exchange program with the Greentown Yuhua School in Hangzhou, China, Xiaodong Zhao and other Winsor teachers will be leading our sixth trip to China immediately following graduation in June of 2018. The 18-day trip will be a combination of student exchange, cultural immersion and service learning. It will allow students to explore both modern and historic centers of Chinese civilization, giving them a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in local environments while also experiencing a broad range of cultural traditions such as Chinese tea ceremonies, dumpling making and folk dancing. Students will spend their first week in Hangzhou at Greentown Yuhua School, where they will stay with host families and attend classes and activities with Chinese students. Afterwards, they will visit other parts of China including Beijing, Shanghai and Xi’an, Dunhuang, where they will interact with local communities and tour sights of interest such as the Great Wall and the Terracotta Warriors. Students on this trip will have the opportunity to host Greentown students when they visit Winsor in April of 2018.
This trip is open to most Upper School students. Seniors who graduate in June of 2018 will not be able to participate. The current estimated price for the trip is $4,200. The final price will depend on group size, airport taxes and surcharges, currency exchange rates, and other unforeseen variables.
