What three words would girls use to describe your teaching style?
Patient, encouraging, and fun (hopefully!)
How would you describe your relationships with students?
I think I have a great relationship with my students. When we are in class, I want them to feel comfortable and safe, respected, and challenged.
Do you have a favorite lesson or project to teach?
I still love teaching beginning students how to make their very first sound on their instruments. Their faces light up when they get to move the bow across the strings and it actually sounds good.
What do you love about teaching?
I love seeing students in the midst of discovery, and it's incredibly rewarding to see the joy and excitement that they experience during that process.
What’s the best thing about teaching at Winsor?
I'm so lucky to work with bright, talented students who enjoy learning, we have incredible facilities, and my colleagues are inspiring.
Is there a lasting lesson you hope girls take from your classes?
Oh, there are too many to list! I hope my students learn and embrace that doing your best is always good enough. I also hope my students remember that mistakes are ok! They provide information that we can use to improve in the future.
Favorite Winsor tradition? Pie Day!
I love taking scenic walks around Boston, and of course I enjoy playing music in my spare time.
"Work hard & be nice to people." -Anthony Burrill (artist). Burrill uses this quote in one of his pieces, and I love it for its simplicity. I always try to do my best in whatever I'm doing, and I believe that kindness is contagious.
