What is the Party with a Purpose? And why do we want everyone to participate? In the words of Thomas Ryan, one of the main organizers of this event, "You should be excited to be a part of this dance/party because it celebrates our community. It's about having fun together, feeling like a 10 year-old for the night, and it's part of something greater than yourself."

"Everybody has a reason to dance, whether it's just to be happy or to make the kids happy, or to support the Children's Hospital, or for any other reason," continued Thomas. "But for me, it's even more personal." Thomas' sister Maggie, Winsor Class of 2012, was killed in a car crash May 22, 2016, on her way home, having just graduated from Washington University. While she was at WU in St. Louis, she chaired the University's Dance Marathon and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Children's Miracle Network in St. Louis. There is no better way to carry on in her spirit than Party with a Purpose . . . For the Kids."
