COVID-19 Health & Safety Layers

List of 5 items.

  • Masking

There is no school requirement for masking, including parents, vendors, contractors, volunteers, and affiliates. Exceptions include the Health Office, where masks are still required; we also reserve the right to require masks under certain circumstances, such as large indoor gatherings. Masks are not required, and have never been required, outdoors.
  • Hygiene Protocols

Good hand washing with soap and water is encouraged throughout the day. Hand sanitizer dispensers will also be available throughout the school.
  • Testing

All individuals who become ill with symptoms of COVID-19 during the school day should visit the Health Office. Testing will be available to those with COVID-19 symptoms via a rapid antigen self test.
  • Close Contacts

We will no longer conduct contact tracing as it is not recommended statewide in K-12 schools. Asymptomatic individuals will not be excluded from school as a result of exposure, regardless of vaccination status or exposure setting.
  • Health Monitoring

All members of the community are encouraged to stay home when feeling ill or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.

You Tested Positive, Now What Happens?

The date of return to school will be determined by the Health Office and will be shared with the appropriate division head and the athletic trainer.

If you test positive for COVID-19, please notify Nurse Sue and begin isolating at home for five days.
The five-day isolation starts with the testing date as day zero. You may return to school on day six if you meet all three criteria:
  1. You are fever free for 24 hours without taking fever-reducing medications.
  2. If your symptoms have fully resolved.
  3. If you test negative for COVID-19 via a rapid antigen test.
Tests results will need to be sent to Nurse Sue before returning to school. Upon returning to school, please wear a mask until completion of day 10.

If you do not meet the criteria on day six, please remain home and continue to monitor. If by day 10 you still test positive but are asymptomatic, you may return on day 11.

Visitor Policy

All persons visiting campus will be required to monitor their symptoms in advance of arriving on campus (see below), but will no longer be required to wear masks when indoors.

Before coming to Winsor, you must answer the following health self-assessment questions:
  • Have I been diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 5 days?
  • Am I experiencing symptoms of COVID-19? Symptoms include: uncontrolled cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle aches and fatigue, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, sore throat, or a new loss of taste or smell.
If the answer is yes to any of these questions, please do not come to Winsor’s campus. This is important for the health and safety of everyone.
