How can adults get involved at Winsor?
Every parent is a member of the Winsor Parents’ Association, a group that provides assistance to the School through volunteer activities, organization of social gatherings, and assistance at various Winsor events.
The Parents’ Association (PA) seeks to foster a warm, welcoming, and inclusive community for every Winsor family by hosting potluck dinners, division coffees with Winsor Faculty, and class social events. The PA also organizes two formal programs during the year at which an invited speaker addresses a particular theme focused on issues of concern to the community. Recent esteemed guest speakers have included Dr. Frances Jensen, author of “The Teenage Brain,” and Dr. Lisa Damour, author of "Untangled: Guiding Teenage Girls Through the Seven Transitions Into Adulthood" and "Under Pressure: Confronting the Epidemic of Stress and Anxiety in Girls."
In addition, every parent is welcome to volunteer, in fact we had over 230 parent volunteers last year! Volunteering is a great way to meet other parents while contributing to the School in a significant way. The range and scope of volunteer opportunities at Winsor are broad – it’s really up to you in how involved you may or may not want to be.
