Cabot Sisters Take the World Rowing Championships by Storm

Imogen Cabot ’22 has been selected to the 2021 Under 19 National Team that will represent the United States at the World Rowing Junior Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, on August 11 to 15, 2021. She will race as a member of the women’s coxed four with teammates hailing from other prominent junior and high school rowing programs across the country.

She follows in the footsteps of her sister Lettie Cabot '19, who was selected to the 2019 Under 19 National Team. Now in her third year at Stanford University, Lettie recently rowed for Great Britain at the 2021 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Racice, Czech Republic. Lettie (3), along with teammates Amelia Standing (b), Holly Dunford (2), and Daisy Bellamy (s) won a gold medal in the women’s four (pictured), beating out the United States by 1.86 seconds.

Imogen began rowing at Winsor in Grade 9 and also played basketball and lacrosse. Choosing to dedicate more time to crew, Imogen rowed her sophomore and junior years and was selected as a team captain for the upcoming 2021-2022 season.

The United States will have 60 athletes in 14 crews competing at the five-day regatta. Events include the men's and women's single sculls, double sculls, quadruple sculls, pair, four, four with coxswain, and eight. The U.S. roster includes athletes from 18 states.
