Club Golf Finishes Third in Pippy O'Connor Tournament

Monday, May 9—Congratulations to the Winsor Club Golf team on finishing in third place at the Pippy O'Connor Tournament in the 18 hole division! Named after a former faculty member—Theodora “Pippy” O’Connor—the  tournament, which debuted in 1984, had not been played since 2019 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Kaitlyn Doe ’27, Sophie Lim ’24, Ella Pascucci ’23, and Sofie Robinson ’24 paced the team to their third place finish, behind perennial power houses Greenwich Academy and Sacred Heart Academy.

Both Sofie Robinson ’24 and Kaitlyn Doe ’27 shot 80, one stroke behind the winning golfer from Greenwich Academy who shot a 79. By a match of cards, Robinson finished second and Doe third. Both players received NEPSAC All League awards. Sophie Lim ’24 came in 22nd and received NEPSAC Honorable Mention.

Winsor hosted the Pippy O'Connor Tournament at the Woodland Country Club. Read more about the tournament in the Boston Globe, which features some great pictures of Winsor golfers.
