Michaela Stanfield '20 became the third Winsor basketball player to reach the 1,000-point milestone on Saturday, February 2, 2019 during Winsor's game vs. Groton.

Michaela's 1,000th point was tallied on a free throw, and play stopped for a few minutes for teammates and fans to celebrate her achievement.

Michaela follows in the footsteps of Winsor basketball greats Alina Brennan '18 and Emily Wanger '09, who also made the landmark baskets during their junior years.

This accomplishment highlights a stellar season for the junior. So far, Michaela has totaled 344 points this winter, and has averaged 21.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2 steals per game. The Wildcats are currently ranked 3rd in the EIL, and are 9-7 with 5 games to go in the regular season. She is a two-time varsity basketball EIL All-League selection for the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 seasons.

"Micheala is an absolute joy to coach," says head coach Kathryn Robb. "Her passion for the game and her drive to succeed is infectious."
