Winsor's Lubin-O'Donnell Center has earned a 2018 American Architecture Award, being cited among "the best, new significant buildings" by American architects in recent years.
Design accolades continue for Winsor's Lubin-O'Donnell Center.
In receiving a 2018 American Architecture Award, the project has been cited as among "the best, new significant buildings" by American architects in recent years.
The latest honor again recognizes the work of William Rawn Associates, the Boston architecture firm behind the transformative project. In the fall, their Winsor project was also among the recipients of the 2017 Education Facility Design Award of Merit.
Now in its 24th year, the American Architecture Awards are among the nation's most prestigious honors for new buildings, promoting the design excellence of cutting-edge works.
The annual awards are bestowed by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, together with The European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies and Metropolitan Arts Press.
Honors will be presented at an awards gala on June 20, 2018, at the Institute of International Education in New York.
Doubling the school's educational space, the Lubin-O'Donnell Center opened in the spring of 2015. It was made possible by the unprecedented Winsor Promise campaign, which "set out to anchor Winsor on this historic campus on Pilgrim Road for generations to come," notes Allison Kaneb Pellegrino '89, P'21, '22, president of the Winsor School Corporation.
