Orientation and the Return to Learning

The week of August 31, Winsor welcomed students back for Orientation, by class, in keeping with health and safety protocols. The tent in the courtyard was set with tables ensuring seating 6 feet apart, and will serve as a place for lunch and meetings throughout the fall.  Inside the buildings, classrooms were rearranged to ensure students would remain 6 feet apart, hallways were reconfigured, and non-classroom seating was removed. In addition, state-of-the-art technology was added to many classrooms, enabling both students and faculty to join remotely and engage in the classroom experience.

The following week, students returned to classes following Winsor's new hybrid model, with Lower School students on campus Monday and Tuesday, Upper School students on campus Thursday and Friday, and virtual classes, club meetings, assignments, and assemblies rounding out students' days learning remotely. 

Team sports also got underway in early September, first via Zoom meetings, then starting a hybrid schedule of team practices beginning the week of September 21.  While the teams will not compete against other school teams this fall, students were eager to be back with their peers, and outside taking advantage of the spectacular fall weather.
