Assembly Features Time-Honored Traditions

On Wednesday, April 28, the all-school assembly was a celebration packed with Winsor traditions. The program opened with a virtual presentation of the annual Spring Concert, which featured performances by Lower School chorus and strings ensemble, and Upper School Chamber Orchestra, chorus, chorale, and Senior Small.  This spring’s concert also featured joint performances with Roxbury Latin’s Senior Latonics, and independent projects completed by student’s participating in the performing arts elective Rock On!

The concert was followed by another favorite Winsor tradition, the presentation of the Senior Class Banner. Each year, the members of Class VI design and create a banner for the senior class, taking inspiration from the senior class homeroom theme, which this year was the time-honored “Road Trip”. The students came up with the design, worked with Ms. Pribble to order the fabrics, then each member of the class participated in the making of the banner, with help and support from Ms. Pribble. Members of the Class VI Banner Committee led the virtual presentation. The banner is on display in the dining hall, and seniors had the opportunity to see the banner for the first time on Thursday, and were greeted with celebratory posters created by Class VI.

The assembly closed with the yearbook dedication by Alex Gorham ’21, Caroline Cromwell ’21, and Abby Quigley ’21, the heads of the yearbook.  For being the unwavering, warm welcome at the start of each day, and a constant source of support and inspiration, the students dedicated the yearbook to Ms. Marshall!
