Winsor Parents and Students Receive Special Recognition at the PIN Awards Meeting for Community Service

At the Parents Independent School Network (PIN) awards meeting, Winsor Parents’ Association volunteer coordinators and students received special recognition for multiple community service projects. The projects that received the honor were Kids Snack Bags, Hygiene Packs, Helping the Homeless, and Giving Our Kids the Basics—all projects where parents worked with each Lower School Class to coordinate and complete meaningful community service projects.

Beyond special recognition, Winsor also received a grant on behalf of students Julia Oh ’26 and Anna Oh ’28 for the community service project they spearheaded throughout the past two school years. Julia and Anna’s project entitled “Sweets for L Street,” included input from Hannah Minn ’26 and Liana Min ’26. After realizing how the pandemic negatively impacted dessert donations to homeless shelters, Julia and Anna came up with “Sweets for L Street” where students bake homemade desserts and package them with an inspirational message for the residents of the L Street Mission, a homeless shelter in Brockton. They have been baking 100 desserts per month for two years, for a total of over 2,400 delectable dishes thus far! They also had the opportunity to present their project at the PIN meeting, and they were the only Lower/Middle Division students selected to do so.

Winsor is excited to see so many students and parent volunteer coordinators giving back to the greater Boston community. Congratulations to all of the award winners this year!
