Chief Advancement Officer Emily Gurry brings a strategic, relationship-centered approach to her work in institutional advancement, shaped by more than a decade of leadership in higher education. She joined Winsor from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where she most recently served as senior director of development and alumni engagement. In that role, she led teams across major giving, annual giving, and alumni engagement, helping to strengthen philanthropic support and deepen connections across a global community.
Emily began her career in the Harvard University Alumni Affairs and Development Office, followed by roles in advancement at Harvard Law School, where she worked in annual giving, partnering closely with reunion and class agent volunteers and overseeing programs that fostered broad-based participation.
A graduate of Connecticut College, where she studied psychology, Emily is known for her thoughtful leadership, collaborative spirit, and ability to build meaningful, lasting relationships. Colleagues value her capacity to bring together strategy and empathyโaligning institutional priorities with the passions and interests of donors and volunteers as well as fellow staff members. Fully embodying her professional endeavors, Emily has been actively involved in her alma mater over the yearsโas a class giving officer and most recently as a member of the Connecticut College Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Emilyโs path to Winsor reflects both professional ambition and personal connection. She shares, โI have always wanted to be more intertwined in the community for which Iโm fundraising and getting alumni involved. It has been a personal goal for two decades to one day lead advancement efforts at an independent school, so it is a profound honor and privilege to be welcomed into this community, one that clearly cares so deeply about academic excellence, values-driven leadership, and personal growth.”
At Winsor, Emily leads advancement efforts in support of the schoolโs mission and strategic goals, guiding initiatives in major and annual giving, alumnae engagement, and campaign planning. She is energized by the opportunity to partner with colleagues across the school and to engage the broader community in sustaining and strengthening the Winsor experience for current and future students.
