Assembly

On Fridays, the whole school gathers for weekly assemblies that feature students at the forefront. With guidance from Winsor’s director of community and inclusion, Julian Braxton, groups of students work together to organize and present programming for hundreds of students, faculty and staff. Students will often introduce speakers and lead panel discussions, ensuring they are injecting their voices into important conversations. Each aspect of assemblies uplifts a timeless Winsor value: community.

Assembly topics are engaging and wide ranging. Below are a few examples of recent assembly programs:

• Guest speaker and author Hena Khan, hosted by Ummah, Winsor’s Muslim affinity group
• The Annual Brooks Poetry Competition
• Haitian folkloric dance performances by Jean Appolon Expressions
