Empower Your Family Through Wellness and Art
with Maia Monteagudo ’06, LMHC, Winsor School counselor
Join us for an engaging and hands-on master class where you will learn some of the expressive art therapies techniques that the Winsor Wellness Department uses to support students. These approaches can be used at home to support emotional wellness, self care, and artistic exploration. Designed for all levels of interests this session provides accessible tools to encourage self-expression and healing through art.
The Bible as Literature: Jesus as a Literary Figure
with Sarah Pelmas, Winsor’s eighth head of school and O’Donnell Family Chair
Drawing from her Winsor English class, The Bible as Literature, Sarah Pelmas will focus on the first few chapters of the Gospels according to Matthew, Luke, and John. We will look at the historical contexts for the Gospels, the aspects of Jesus they highlight, and the character of Jesus they introduce. Alums will come away with a better sense of how and why the Gospel writers emphasized particular aspects of Jesus' life and ministry. No prior familiarity with the Bible is necessary.
