Nuha A. El Sayed P’33
Dr. Nuha A. El Sayed is a physician-scientist and endocrinologist on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where she specializes in diabetes and obesity. Her research and teaching at Harvard Medical School spans complexity science, clinical guidelines development/implementation, evidence synthesis, and the application of artificial intelligence in medicine. Prior to joining Brigham, she spent more than a decade at the Joslin Diabetes Center/Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians leading the export of the Harvard/Joslin know-how nationally and globally. She recently served as chief scientific and medical officer (interim) and senior vice president at the American Diabetes Association, where she led the organization’s scientific and clinical programs. She is the founder and chair of DEFA (Diabetes Education for All), a nonprofit advancing diabetes capacity, care, and education globally with a focus on humanitarian and low-income settings. She and her husband, Hythem, are the parents of a current Winsor student.
