We believe thoughtful and adept use of technology is an essential part of each student’s education. Working with digital tools to research, design, create, and share provides essential skills needed to excel in our ever-changing world.
Our school’s 1:1 program is grounded in this vision and designed so that every Winsor student will have a personal device as a resource and tool for learning throughout her school day.
Devices by Grade Level
As students rise through the grade levels at Winsor, the program shifts to address developmental and learning needs.
Students in Classes I-IV are provided a laptop by Winsor as the appropriate technology for their age. All school related software is provided by Winsor. In addition, Winsor provides troubleshooting for hardware and software related issues during the school day. All students have individually designated laptops they use at school and at home.
Class I and II students have individually designated laptops that they can access during the day with faculty supervision, and they may take their laptops home.
Class III and IV students have individually designated laptops that they can access freely during the day.
Class I, II, and III students have access to iPads that live on carts that can be brought into the learning space.
Families of students in classes V-VIII are asked to provide a Mac based laptop for use in school. While the device is provided by the family, all school related software is provided by Winsor with the exception of some electronic textbooks. In addition, Winsor provides troubleshooting for hardware and software related issues - free of charge - to students during the school day.
