Spring Rally: A New Winsor Tradition Takes the Field

On Saturday, April 11, Winsor brought student athletes, families, and fans together for a day of clinics, competition, and school spirit for the first ever Spring Rally. Below, Associate Director of Athletics Katrina Hable shares her reflection on the new event:

The day began with a clinic led by our varsity lacrosse and softball student-athletes, who welcomed a group of middle school players for a morning of skill development and fun. This experience was about building relationships across divisions and giving our younger students a glimpse into the culture and commitment of our Upper School programs.

Our varsity athletes demonstrated outstanding leadership throughout the morning. They led warm-ups and drills, and they created an environment that was both supportive and inspiring. It was a powerful example of student-athletes as mentors, and a reflection of what it means to be a Winsor Wildcat.

After the clinics, students enjoyed a catered lunch together in the Wildcat Room. When lunch finished, the varsity teams left to get ready for their games, while the middle schoolers stepped fully into the spirit of the event. Before the games began, they gathered around tables to make posters and pick out rally itemsโ€”red sunglasses, red hair bows, red pom-poms, and moreโ€”to cheer on the varsity teams.

During the varsity games that afternoon, the sidelines were filled with energy, pride, and a true sense of community, as our younger Wildcats got to support the same athletes who had coached and encouraged them earlier in the day.

We were also incredibly grateful for the outstanding showing and support from our parents and the broader Winsor community. Their presence and enthusiasm helped elevate the entire experience, reinforcing the strength of our community and the shared pride in our student-athletes.

This experience captured exactly what we strive for in Winsor Athleticsโ€”connection across grade levels, student leadership, and a program where athletes feel supported and proud to be part of something bigger than themselves.

We are incredibly proud of our varsity student-athletes for the way they led, taught, and represented our program, and thankful to our Winsor students and families for bringing such energy and spirit.

We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to grow this event into a lasting Winsor tradition in the years ahead.

Go Wildcats!
