Six Winsor Athletes Pursue Collegiate Athletics

Winsor is thrilled to have six accomplished athletes from the Class of 2025 who are continuing their athletic careers by pursuing sports at the collegiate level. 

โ€œWe are so proud of these six athletes and all they have accomplished. We have loved watching them grow as both athletes and leaders during their time at Winsor,โ€ said Director of Winsor Athletics Sherren Granese. โ€œThey all made significant impacts on their respective teams, and we are excited to see everything they will accomplish at their next schools,โ€ she added.

Laurel Halfman โ€™25โ€”Laurel will be swimming at Skidmore College (DIII). As a Lower School student, she joined Winsorโ€™s high school varsity swim team in Class II (sixth grade). During her senior year at Winsor, Laurel took on the leadership role of swim team captain and also won the Swimming Cup at the annual Awards Celebration in 2025, which is awarded to the swimmer who has made the greatest contribution to the team. 

Catherine Russell โ€™25โ€”Catherine joins the field hockey team at Bates College (DIII). A multi-sport athlete, she played both field hockey and lacrosse at Winsor and was named field hockey team captain her senior year. At the annual Awards Celebration in 2025, Catherine received the Field Hockey Cup, which is awarded to the player who has made the greatest contribution to the team. She also received recognition from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association as a recipient of the National Academic Squad Award.

Jolie Zink โ€™25โ€”Jolie will swing her tennis racket for Haverford College (DIII). She played in the #3 singles and #2 doubles position on the team that won the NEPSAC Class B championship in 2022. Additionally, she was awarded the New England Junior Community Impact Award in 2023.

Gabby Kaluski โ€™25โ€”Gabby committed early to the Naval Academy (DI) where she will join the rowing program. In addition to serving as the crew captain at Winsor her senior year, she rowed in both the fall and spring seasons. She raced with Winsor at the United States Youth Nationals as a sophomore, junior, and senior and was a top 10 finisher in the Head of the Charles Regatta 2024. Gabby was a USRowing 2024 Scholastic Honor Roll Recipient and at Winsorโ€™s annual Awards Celebration in 2025, Gabby received the Crew Cup, which is awarded to the member of the crew whose dedication has contributed greatly to the team. 

Anne Moghtader โ€™25โ€”Anne will join the rowing program at Williams College (DIII). In addition to serving as the crew captain at Winsor her senior year, she rowed in both the fall and spring seasons. She raced with Winsor at the United States Youth Nationals as a sophomore and senior and was a top 10 finisher in the Head of the Charles Regatta 2024.

Sophie Fleishman โ€™25โ€”Sophie will be playing soccer at Harvard University (DI). She was a four-year letterwinner and played varsity soccer at Winsor during her entire high school career. She received EIL All-League Selection in 2022, 2023 and 2024 and made the All-NESCAC League in 2023 and 2024. Awarded to the player who has made the greatest contribution to the team, Sophie won the Soccer Cup at Winsorโ€™s annual Awards Celebration in 2024 and again in 2025. Additionally, she was named a team captain for the 2024 season.
