Winsor Track Wins Sixth Straight EIL Championship

Saturday, May 14—Congratulations to the varsity track team on winning their sixth straight Eastern Independent League Championship (EIL) over the weekend. Winsor scored 155 points beating second place finisher Concord Academy (123) by 32 points.


Lydia Morris-Kliment ’23 broke the Winsor and EIL meet record in the discus with a throw of 112 feet 9 inches. Morris-Kliment also broke the EIL meet record in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.85 seconds, and won the long jump with a jump of 16 feet 1/4 inch.


Sophia Lin-David ’22 won the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.11 while Claire Ackerman ’22 finished second in the 800 meter run, 1500 meter run, and the 4 x 400 meter relay. 


All of our track team members made this sixth straight EIL Championship win possible with an outstanding meet and 2021-2022 season. Up next are the New England Championships!

Sunday, May 22—Congratulations to Lydia Morris-Kliment ’23 on becoming the New England Track and Field Division 2 Discuss Champion with a throw of 111 feet 7 inches, who also finished fourth in the 100 meter dash.  

 
Sophia Lin-David ’22 finished third in the 400 meter dash and Brenna Thomas ’26 scored for the team in the 800 and 1500 meter races. There were many outstanding races for the Wildcats and the team finished ninth out of 13 teams.
